The mutiny happened because Bligh was actually too lenient with the crew by allowing them to live on Tahiti while waiting for the breadfruits to get ready for shipping. Living the leasure life in what seemed to be paradise spoiled many of the crew for the harsh life on a British navy ship.
The probably most accurate movie about the mutiny is the 1980s version with Mel Gibson and Anthony Hopkins.
