This looks so much better than any Fuedal Japan game I’ve ever seen. I think the fact that the director at FromSoft works with each team member individually in order to express the director’s unique vision, that’s what makes the difference. That’s how they’re able to to put out these games that are incredibly unified and, uh… What’s the word? Comprehensive? No… I mean, cohesive! That’s it. Like it’s all part of the same whole, and is all communicating some big idea. That idea, for this game, appears to be that sometimes if you lose something, you will gain something better in its place. I really love how they take these philosophical ideas and imbue the gameplay with them. That’s why you get the “gameplay IS the story” feel from FromSoftware games. They’re in a class of their own, IMO.
